Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) can prove an effective method to gather soil behavior information in certain soil types.  A cone shaped tool is pushed into the ground under a great deal of pressure while tip pressure, sleeve friction and pore pressure measurements are taken.  The relationship between these measurements can provide information to help determine soil conditions present.

Our Vertek HT series system is capable of 100’ deep soundings with 10 ton, 10cm^2 cones.   In addition to basic tip, sleeve, and U2 pore pressure measurements these cones are outfitted with bi-axial geophones for collection of seismic wave data.
